There have been so many good things going on here at Huntingdon. We just finished up Lads to Leaders and will be kicking the program off for next year. Thank you to all who participated and those who worked to make it a great weekend. Hopefully we are using this program to fulfill what Proverbs 22:6 teaches us.

We just finished honoring our graduates. Congratulations to all those who have reached this milestone in their lives, and thank you to all who worked to make this time so special. Thank you toa all of you who have helped these graduates throughout their lives and will continue to help them in the future. I hope we have encouraged you to be faithful to God in this next chapter of your lives (Hebrews 3:13).

The chicken dinner was a great day as always. It is great to see all of the community support that we receive. Thank you to all who make it possible. A lot of work goes into this effort, but a lot of good fellowship happens as well (Acts 2:42). Some folks are helped through this effort; may God be glorified (Galatians 6:10).

Mother's Daywas a great day. We are so thanksful for those mothers who sacrifice in their children's lives to show them Jesus. I hope we did what Proverbs 31:28-29 tells us to do. Thanks to those who worked to make Mother's Day so special.

I am continually thankful for the Lunch with Love program that happens here on Mondays. I am thankful for those saints who have meals delivered to them and all the work and sacrifice they have made for the Lord's cause throughout their lives. Galatians 6:10 comes to my mind.

There are so many things on the horizon, and I am thankful for those who make these things happen. I am sure there are a lot of things I did not mention. Please forgive my memory. I am thankful for you also. Are you involved? If not, find a place to glorify God!

With the start of the major league baseball season and many of you being fans and the fact that many of you have kids playing baseball or softball, I thought I would write an article that included that as a theme. You might be thinking, “What can a Christian learn from baseball/softball?” I am not here to give pitching or hitting advice. I want to talk about the concept of team. Baseball/softball is a team sport, and you need each other to win the game. Yes, a pitcher might have a perfect game, but they will need some runs from the batters to win the game. The reality is that a perfect game is pretty rare so pitchers are usually going to need those in the field to catch the ball and try to get the runners out.

That makes me think about the church. The church should be a team. The passage that comes to my mind is Ephesians 4:16. It says, “From whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.” The whole body in the passage seems to be the church, and joint and individual part seems to refer to individual Christians. How does the body grow? Each individual part causes it to grow. If we think about our bodies, we need every part of our bodies working together so our bodies function properly. If parts of my body are not function properly, it affects the whole. If the outfield keeps dropping routine fly balls, the team is going to have a tough time winning.

What is the lesson for me, individually? As a part of the body of Christ, what can I do to help it to grow? It is not just the preachers’, elders’, or deacons’ job to make the church grow. They have a part but not the whole. What talents or abilities has God blessed each of us with that we can use for His glory?

Jesus glorified God by serving and evangelizing. How else did he glorigy God?

How?

What are some other ways I can do this?

Can you think of any other verses?

What keeps me from glorifying God in this way?

What can I do to overcome these things?

How do I have the heart for this?

How could I start this on a regular basis?Am I doing this?
